Being a Symbol of a City

If you're on your way to Gaziantep and you're looking for a good place to eat, the first person that comes in front of you will start to describe Imam Çağdaş's place without thinking. When you take a look at the sightseeing program of the GAP tours, you will see that Gaziantep is an indispensable place of call.

In a city called baklava and kebab, producing the best baklava and kebab means being the symbol of that city.
All these striking examples are the natural but not easily obtained results of belonging to a city for over a century, producing the best in that city and integrating with that city. “İmam Çağdaş” is a symbol of Gaziantep's cross-border reputation for many years. But, it is still determined not to go outside of Gaziantep and to maintain the traditional line.

One of the famous gourmets, the late Tuğrul Şavkay, writes in an article in the daily Hürriyet on May 7, 2000:
… I have many friends from Antep. Some live in Istanbul and some live in Antep. Ayfer Tuzcu and Burhan Çağdaş are one of those who persistently left Antep. Lots of coins stamps. Including Istanbul in Turkey where they want, if they wish-even-even live abroad. But they have established their order in Antep. They're happy to live there. They carry the joy of adding something to the city they live in with their work. Are there any things to do if there is no love and commitment to the place of life?…

… And there's one more thing they haven't left. Protecting where she lives and doing something for it ası
Imam Usta felt and lived in this city… Today he lives in the third generation with the same feelings and continues the tradition of ini not compromising on quality ”. This tradition continues with the contributions made in many different platforms from Gaziantep's Civil Society Organizations to public institutions. They have a very different and supra-political position in the city. Despite their busy daily work, they take care of and help with almost every stuck person. Quietly, every day dozens of people needing to feed their bellies, they feel like their customers and enjoy the peace of a tradition to keep alive.
